1. Getting to the conference site
We have maxed out on our ability to do pick ups from the airport. If
we have not already discussed pickup with you, you are on your own.
But have no fear, UBC is just 30 minutes bus ride from the airport and
easily accessible from anywhere in the city.
Check out the maps on our Getting here page.
If you need directions, please try google before emailing us! We are
swamped with high email volume. If you are really feeling stuck or
need pickup for you and a lot of gear from the airport, let us know and
we'll see what we can do.
2. Things to bring, tips for the last minute packers
Below are some essentials that you should bring, along with a link to our "what to bring" page.
Essentials
Water Bottle, tea cup, coffee thermos, etc. We will not have any disposable cups at IDEC. We will have a few mugs around, but for the most part, we expect you to bring something to drink out of and take care of!Enthusiasm and passion!
Reminder: Towels are only provided if you are in Rits! But it's a good idea to bring one anyway, for the beach/water fights, etc. If you are not sure how useful a towel might be, refer to the Hitchhiker's Guide.
Read more on our Thing to Bring page.
3. Parking at UBC for those driving
There are many parking lots at UBC. Lot "L" is the closest to the Totem building and has been suggested as the best place for us. Parking is $5/day. There is also free parking on Marine Drive, but it cannot be used from 12-6am (overnight).Check out the maps on our Getting here page.
4. Calendar/Open Space/scheduling
Thanks you all for the amazing wealth of contribution to our Open Space! Most items have been put onto the schedule and the rest will follow soon. If you wish to do more, please read the items and feel free to comment. Find similar Items to the ones you posted and collaborate with those presenters.Visit the Calendar page and starting reading!
If you have any concerns or new idea, bring them to The Open Space Meeting on the 11th.
5. The IDEC Auction
We are looking for donation for a fund raising auction. Please consider bringing an Item that that will be special to someone else (and can be taken home on a plane). You are also welcome to donate a service (like 30 minutes skilled massage). Items can be dropped off at the registration desk.
The Auction will be a fund raiser for SANE. You can read more on The IDEC Auction on the calendar.
