Calendar and Open Space
Conference Calendar
The IDEC 2008 Conference Calendar is now online! The Opening Ceremony is on Monday, August 11, and Dr. Gabor Maté's keynote address on Saturday, August 16th.New news! Yaacov Hecht is coming! He will be giving a keynote on Thursday night.
Open Space
The organizational model for IDEC 2008 is based on the principles of collaboration, consensus, and self-organization. Accordingly much of the content of the conference is to be determined in the coming weeks, via an online "Open Space" in which interested participants can suggest or announce plans for sessions, panels, workshops, performances, etc.Anyone is welcome to present at IDEC. However, we do not guarantee a space or audience. IDEC is an open conference that welcomes all participants to contribute in any way they like, so long as it does not prevent others from doing the same.
All items on the Open Space calendar will be schedule if there is an interest from participants to attend. Rooms will be allocated according to greatest need. Any items that do not make it onto the schedule can still happen, because the people wishing to offer them can make them happen. If we run out of rooms, people will present outside, in their dorm rooms, or in public spaces.
Comments have been enabled for each session proposal, so that a conversation can develop which might help refine the focus of a topic, merge two or more topics into a single session, and so on. As the proposals are accepted by the interest of participants, they will be slotted into the calendar. Site managers will assign times and locations to the items in the Open Space calendar and they will move to the Conference Calendar.

Windsor House Live
This is the IDEC program geared to the interest of younger participants (aged 6 and up) and run by volunteer alumni, current teens, parents and staff from Windsor House School (or the school maintained web page). Many items on the Conference Calendar will have the tag "WH-Live", indicating that they are geared to the interests of a wide age range. All IDEC participants are welcome to attend any event, but we recognize that younger participants are not likely to take an interest in hour long speeches and power points. With this in mind, WH-Live is a series of events for all ages.
Speakers and Special guests
IDEC 08 will include a series of formal Keynote Speaker and Special Guests. You will find their presentations on the Conference Calendar as they are listed, or under Open Space if times are not yet confirmed.
